Gimenez succeeds late husband as presiding bishop of ministerial fellowship

VIRGINIA BEACH

The Rev. Anne N. Gimenez succeeded her late husband, John, on Tuesday by becoming the new presiding bishop of Rock Ministerial Fellowship, a group of several hundred churches.

Anne and John, who died Feb. 12 at 76, co-founded Rock Church in 1968, and their congregation became a landmark Pentecostal megachurch in Virginia Beach.

Anne was consecrated as bishop on Tuesday evening in a ceremony at Rock Church on Kempsville Road. She had served most recently as senior pastor of Rock Church. The fellowship includes pastors of Rock Church’s many satellite congregations.
