Man indicted in death of Portsmouth woman he had stalked

Posted to: Chesapeake Crime News

CHESAPEAKE

A Chesapeake grand jury has indicted Tommie Forster on a charge of first-degree murder in the killing of a 21-year-old Portsmouth woman.

The grand jury returned the indictment this week against Forster, a 22-year-old Portsmouth resident. He is accused of killing Maya Danielle Davis, of the 4600 block of West Norfolk Road in Portsmouth.

Davis’ body was discovered Sept. 4 in a ditch on the side of Rotunda Avenue in Chesapeake, near the Portsmouth city line.

Days before her death, Forster was convicted in Portsmouth General District Court of stalking Davis. He did not receive jail time for the misdemeanor offense.

A peace bond was supposed to keep him away from Davis, a woman he dated last year.
