Are you serious? Is what I said when the movie ended
The plausibility of plants organizing to destroy mankind, huh? Oh give me a break! Why in the wind and not in our food? Why just construction workers on a tall building falling off for special bloody effects and not a pizza shop with where everyone is slicing themselves up? I know that makes no sense and neither did this movie. I realize this is a science fiction thriller, but come on a little more effort please. I feel it was written very lazily without putting some real science fact into it. I’m beginning to think that M.Night’s big hit the Sixth Sense was a one hit wonder. This movie had no point, had no plot (with intelligence). If anything this movie would have been a good short for the TV series the Twilight Zone.
Save your money!
Keep this movie in mind for a dvd rental. It was ok but not worth the price of a $9 movie!
The Happening
Those who did not like the movie did not perhaps understand it. It had a lot of scientific basis in plants communicating with each other and was significant in its plausibility. It was a simple concept that earth may strike back at us for what we are doing to her and in the same way that we are attacking it--not permitting its own survival, i.e., humans lose their instinct to survive. What better way to make the point?
Not as bad as
the other two reviews, but not great either... Not a lot of plot, just a lot of people dying for not a lot of reason... Probably will NOT see it on cable...
Zoey Daschel (sp?) has the bluest eyes in the world...
Just my $.02 worth..
Tank of gas, or The Happening ?
This movie was such a waste of time and money, if I had known it was going to be a tree hugger movie I could have done something else with my time, like sit in my house and play with my Beagles.
don`t waste your time or money. But if you wan`t to know what the movie is about, when the wind blows and the trees start moving, well there you go, less the people killing themselves.
Not worth the money!!!
I have been a fan of M. Night Shyamalan's movies since Sixth Sense, I was very dissapointed with this movie. With all the others there has been a purpose to them, a reveal at the end that makes them worth it. Not with this one. Don't waste the money, wait for it to come out on Cable. This was just as bad as Lady in the Water, maybe he's lost his touch.
