Hearing on Dominion rate increase June 24

Posted to: Business Virginia

Dominion Virginia Power customers and others who want to comment on the company's proposed fuel rate increase may do so during a public hearing scheduled for 10 a.m. June 24 in Richmond.

Dominion has proposed to raise its fuel rate on July 1, which would boost bills by $16.61, or about 18 percent, for households using 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per month. The "fuel factor" represents the company's cost to buy fuel to run power plants and is passed directly to customers with no markup.

The State Corporation Commission will hold the hearing at its offices, and those who wish to make comments in writing must submit those by June 19. For more information, call (800) 552-7945 or visit www.scc.virginia.gov/newsrel/e_dvpff_08.aspx.
