Jamesetta M. Walker is an assistant city editor and style columnist.  She helps oversee coverage of Norfolk and Portsmouth news, including Currents, the community tabloid for Portsmouth.  She also writes a fashion and style column called "Between the Seams" for The Daily Break features section.

Jamesetta previously was assistant features editor.  Prior to that position, she was features editor at The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Miss., where she wrote an award winning personal column and had also held various other positions in the newsroom.  She also has worked in fashion and interior decor merchandising, as well as public relations.

Jamesetta earned a B.A. degree in news editorial from Southern University and a M.S. in communication from Mississippi College, with additional studies at Wright State University.  She's also been an adjunct communications professor at Jackson State University.

She's a true Deep South gal who hails from Mississippi's Delta and central regions.  Jamesetta goes dormant when the temperature falls below 55.  She loves mowing the yard and designing landscapes.  She's been a lifelong stickler for style and fasion sensibility.  Most days you can spot her wearing purple.
