Judges for Caesar's Salad Taste Test

Posted to: Taste Test

Micah Howerton

23, Virginia Beach

Occupation Account manager, Bank of America

Nominated Chicken Caesar salad from Romano's Macaroni Grill in Town Center

On Caesar salad "I like these salads because they have such a mixture of flavors between the Parmesan cheese, the way the chicken is prepared and the flavorful dressing."

Karen Fuller

47, Chesapeake

Occupation Substitute teacher

Nominated "I haven't had a Caesar salad that I'd seek out by a return visit since having been spoiled by Mr. Lynnwood Craig, who made it tableside at the Town Point Club with all fresh ingredients. With that no longer being an option, I would nominate my own."

On Caesar salad "Caesar salad is the perfect side or can be a complete meal. It's so refreshing. If you're eating my creation, just make sure your mate is also, as it's full of garlic!"

Jim Spruance

65, Virginia Beach

Occupation Retired Navy officer

Nominated Fellini's

On Caesar salad "I like the presentation, the crunchiness and texture, the smell, the lightness of the dressing, the tartness of taste, that a good one can replace an entree, the absence of tomatoes, it is easily shared on one plate, it goes well with any fine wine, its aphrodisiac properties (or was that the wine?), oh, and did I mention the garlic? What's not to like about anchovies and raw eggs?"

Jim Ralston

42, Virginia Beach

Occupation "Caregiver to my 2-year old son, who was diagnosed with cancer about 10 months ago. I was a chef at Taste Unlimited prior to his diagnosis."

Nominated "I'm partial to my own Caesar salad."

On Caesar salad "Experimenting and having tried a circus of items on the salad (shrimp, chicken, scallops, bacon, prosciutto, steak, etc.... ), I'm partial to grilled shrimp. I feel the secret to a good grilled shrimp Caesar salad is to have the tails removed before being served."
