Miranda earned a degree in journalism from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla., in 2002. She worked for two years as a page designer and production artist at Ocean Drive Magazine in Miami Beach before leaving to pursue a graduate degree at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind. She interned for three months at the Philadelphia Inquirer in 2005 and for six months at the Sun-Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale in 2006.
Miranda has been employed by The Virginian-Pilot since October 2006.
