NORFOLK

A cyclist who was struck by a car a week ago has died of his injuries, police said Sunday.

Police identified the cyclist as Kevin L. Bragg, 26, of the 400 block of Stockton Road.

The accident happened at about 8:30 a.m. on April 27, in the 1700 block of East Little Creek Road.

Bragg was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead at the hospital just before 11 p.m. Saturday, said Officer Chris Amos, a police spokesman.

The commonwealth’s attorney will decide whether to press charges against the driver, Amos said.

I can't speak for this incident, but I do know first hand that..

Norfolk drivers can be very disrespectful towards bicyclist. I've had people try and open their car door as I'm coming down the street following all traffic laws. I've had people start to pull out in front of me, oblivious to what is going on around them. Norfolk would do best to add bike lanes to all it's busy streets. I love the bike lane down Church Street. Let's get more of them! With the price of gas going through the roof and thinking green, more and more people will choose to leave the car at home and get on the bike. Let's make it safer for them.
