NORFOLK

Police are investigating a shooting that has left one man seriously injured this morning.

Officer Chris Amos, a police spokesman, said police were called to the intersection of Forbes Street and Kimball Terrace about 12:20 a.m., on a report of a single-vehicle accident.

When they arrived, Amos said, they found the driver suffering from a gunshot wound.

It is believed the man had been shot elsewhere and had driven to the area, where he lost control and crashed.

The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with what were initially believed to be life-threatening injuries. But, by mid-morning, the victim’s condition had improved and he was listed in stable condition, Amos said.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP (562-5887).
