PETA calls for suspension of Kentucky Derby runner-up
Gabriel Saez was riding Eight Belles when the horse broke both ankles when galloping about one quarter of a mile past the finish line. The filly was euthanized on the track. PETA claims that the filly was injured before the finish of race.
If you want to join PETA's to suspend Saez, you can send an e-Letter directly to the Kentucky Horse Racing Authority from PETA's Website. In an effort to be fair and balanced, we searched for ways to support Saez. We didn't find any. Our best guess is that you would have to contact the Kentucky Horse Racing Authority yourself.
Here’s aerial video close to the finish.
Roger Clemens saga continues with an apology to family, fans
The Cy Young winner made his first public statement since a tabloid linked him to extramarital affairs last week. He said: "Even though these articles contain many false accusations and mistakes, I need to say that I have made mistakes in my personal life for which I am sorry. I have apologized to my family and apologize to my fans. Like everyone, I have flaws. I have sometimes made choices which have not been right." The Major League Baseball player has been under the media and MLB radar in the last year for possible steroid use. The tabs link him to having had multiple affairs including a 15-year-old and the wife of a pro-golfer.

Amy Winehouse won't record Bond track
Producer Mark Ronson says he and Amy Winehouse have abandoned recording the theme to the latest James Bond film because the singer is not ready to work. Go figure. Ronson says the two started work on the track for the upcoming Bond movie "Quantum of Solace" but it would take "some miracle of science" to finish it. Winehouse apparently isn’t ready to work after her big Grammy wins because she’s too busy getting’ busted by the police for getting in fights with men and drugs. Maybe she’ll join her already jailed husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
Prince Harry gets a gold star for Afghan service
Prince Harry earned a gold star – um, we mean a medal for his service in Afghanistan. His aunt, Princess Anne, pinned it on him today in a ceremony at the Combermere Barracks in Windsor, west of London. The young red-haired royal struggled to contain a smile as the princess pinned the Operational Service Medal for Afghanistan to his desert uniform. The 23-year-old prince's deployment was cut short earlier this year after news of his mission became public. But he served about 10 weeks - enough to meet the four-week minimum required to receive the medal.
Britney baby showers it up with ‘lil sis Jamie Lynn It was a family affair Saturday as momma-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears had an intimate baby shower thrown for her in the Spears’ hometown of Kentwood, La. About 30 guests were invited – including big sis Brit Brit – to Kentwood for a ladies-only, catered celebration for the 17-year-old at the family's Serenity mansion. Her mother and fiancé Casey Aldridge’s mother helped her open her presents at this good “old-fashioned” baby shower. It’s good to know the Spears family doesn’t party over the edge when it comes to baby showers.
