Robertson's Operation Blessing in Myanmar, China

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.

Members of the relief organization founded by religious broadcaster Pat Robertson are helping those affected by the cyclone in Myanmar and the earthquake in China.

Officials with Operation Blessing say the Virginia Beach group is one of the only U.S. charities helping with relief efforts in both countries.

In Myanmar, the group is partially funding a medical clinic and distributing rice and charcoal in the region. Operation Blessing also has arranged for water purification plants to be ready to deploy when government restrictions on aid supplies are lifted.

The group also is assessing earthquake damage in China. Officials say relief efforts will begin shortly, including setting up a medical clinic staffed by doctors.

anneb completely missed the point of the message. Robertson DID NOT help anyone but himself when he sent unusable mattresses and furniture to Franklin. He used it as a tax write-off and for publicity. He didn't even worry about where to dump the trash since he managed to unload it on the Salvation Army workers. I stand by my statements. God expects our best in serving and helping others, not the trash that no one wants. If you have ever worked disaster relief, you would understand. No one needs soiled and stained clothing and unusable household items! People who lose everything do not need to start over with another man's rubbish. If Robertson was reaching out to people in need, why didn't he send new matresses? WIth his personal empire he could certainly afforded to do so! Why didn't he send furniture in usable condition? He sent junk and profited by doing so. Knowing this, it would be hard to believe that it only happened one time.

These people are so dishonest, so untrustworthy, so hypocritical and so malicious. I do not understand journalists who do not report on their abuses of power, lies, crimes, and sins.

Opportunity for more attention for a false prophet

I do not understand why the media acknowledges this man or his adulterer son or their tv show at all. They do their good deeds in public for the attention and power it brings THEM. It is disgusting that these people who feign holiness, words of knowledge, tongues, and healing for the purpose of bringing in money have any newsworthiness.

I will pray for the hurting people over there. I will pray for the faithfuls here also who are duped by self-serving and boastful false prophets.

Shame on you for saying "beware of wolves in sheep's clothing"! You apparently have a problem with Pat Robertson. That's YOUR problem, and that's okay. The fact that help is being sent over is the right thing to do. What are YOU doing to help out? Surely, not in this magnitude.

"Things may not be as they seem" and this is one example. Take a closer look at the "help" offered by Robertson.

When the town of Franklin, VA was flooded, many people lost everything. Donations poured in. The people of Frnalin are very grateful.

Along came Pat Robertson. There was a media blitz because he was sending tractor-trailer loads to Franklin! Sounds great, doesn't it? The truth is that the truckloads came from old motels that Robertson was gutting. The furniture and mattresses were in such bad shape that the Salvation Army had to refuse delivery! Robertson refused to take the junk back to avoid embarrassment. The volunteers in Franklin had to dispose of the junk.

If this is what Robertson does on the home turf, what will he do in other countries where we are unlikely to learn the truth? I was there in Franklin. Beware of a wolf in sheep's clothing!
