Sniper Muhammad now says he wants to fight death sentence

Lawyers for convicted sniper John Allen Muhammad say their client has changed his mind again and now wants to go forward with a federal appeal of his conviction and death sentence. A Virginia Beach jury convicted Muhammad in 2003.

In a handwritten letter from death row made public earlier this week, Muhammad told the Virginia attorney general that he wanted to suspend all appeals of his 2003 death sentence.

But Muhammad's lawyer, James Connell (kuh-NELL), says in a letter to the judge made public Friday that he has since spoken with Muhammad and that his client now wants to go forward with an appeal.

Muhammad and his teenage accomplice, Lee Boyd Malvo, were convicted for their roles in the 2002 sniper spree that terrorized the Washington region. Muhammad was sentenced to death, and Malvo was sentenced to life in prison.

A truer headline I have never read. Sure John, right after your victims appeal theirs. The additional tragedy is the Malvo kid getting sucked into this guy's "charisma".

Have you notice those convicted murder do not want to die. But it was ok to kill another person and go to court and turn it into a game. I say, Do not pass go and do not collect $200 go straight to hell.

Just continue going thru the process of putting the thing to sleep. It's no longer human, just a animal gone rabid. No emotion, just put the animal to sleep.

It's amazing what lawyers can convince people to say and do. This lawyer is probably going to make hundreds of thousands of dollors on these appeals to try and save the life of a scumbag.

and this clown is still alive? What is wrong with the legal system in the USA.? He should have been taken out back and shot to death just like the people he did not having a problem with shooting to death. What is the problem, his jail cell not "nice" enough or is he still on the SPECIAL diet like he was in the Virginia Beach jail? This scum should have been delt with in 2002.
