The city will reopen streets in the Hillpoint Farms neighborhood at 7 a.m. Wednesday for the first time since a tornado hit on April 28.

City Manager Selena Cuffee-Glenn made the decision Tuesday after meeting with police and public works employees, a statement from the city said.

The Burnetts Mill subdivision will be the only neighborhood still closed to the public. It is open to homeowners and workers.

“Our main priorities have always been maintaining public safety, protecting private property and effective removal of debris,” Cuffee-Glenn said in the statement. “With the outstanding work of the city’s personnel and cooperation of our citizens, we have been able to make monumental progress in those areas.”
