Churchland 3, Granby 1
Travis Lane tallied the go-ahead goal in the 63rd minute Thursday night for the Truckers in an Eastern District semifinal.
Churchland advances to Tuesday’s 7 p.m. final against Maury and claimed the district’s remaining spot in the Eastern Region tournament.
Lane finished with two goals and keeper Jay Coble made seven saves, including a penalty-kick stop for the victors.

Will Martin had a hat trick to power the No. 1 Falcons.
Sophomore Mark Nankervis had two saves in his first varsity start for the victors, who will face Princess Anne in today’s 7 p.m. play-off at Ocean Lakes with the Beach District regular-season championship on the line.
The No. 2 Cavaliers beat Tallwood 3-0 and the two teams finished with 8-1-1 league records.

Brian Cunningham powered a ball into the top left off a 30-yard free kick with less than two minutes remaining to help the Eagles knock off the fourth-ranked Dolphins.
The victors had just knotted the score at 1-1 less than two minutes prior when Tyler Romano nodded in a goal from a corner kick by Cunningham.

Tabbi Leon scored with three minutes remaining to lift the Truckers into Tuesday’s 5:30 p.m. Eastern District final against Maury.

Cameron Cousins’ squeeze bunt in the bottom of the seventh scored Travis Vonderhaar and lifted the Falcons into the state private schools Division III final at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Down 5-3 heading into the final frame, Hunter Nicholson stroked a two-run single in the seventh to knot the score at 7-7 before Cousins’ bunt.
Cousins finished 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs for the victors.

Robby Newman smacked his 12th home run to help the SunDevils topple the top-ranked Eagles.
Newman and Jimmy Grassano totaled four hits, four runs and 2 RBIs.
