Cheney to speak at Richmond GOP fundraiser

RICHMOND

Vice President Dick Cheney will be the keynote speaker Friday night at a fundraising dinner for the state Republican Party.

He will speak at the GOP’s Commonwealth Gala dinner at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.

The GOP is hosting a two-day state convention at the center that will conclude Saturday with the nomination of a candidate to run for the U.S. Senate against Democrat Mark Warner.

Two candidates are seeking the GOP nomination: former Gov. Jim Gilmore and Del. Bob Marshall of Prince William County.
