The 25th annual Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters Telethon Celebration ended Sunday with more than $3.5 million in pledges received, organizers said.

Sunday's five-hour fundraising event, broadcast live on WVEC-TV Channel 13, ended at 8 p.m.

All proceeds will benefit CHKD, the region's only hospital dedicated exclusively to children.

CHKD, based in Norfolk, provides a range of services, including primary care, immunizations and life-saving critical care, for children throughout southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore, as well as northeastern North Carolina.
