Old Dominion University doesn’t play its first I-AA football game until the fall of 2009, but there’s plenty going on between now and then. Virginian-Pilot reporter Rich Radford will be covering the Monarchs’ road back to Foreman Field.

Dispelling the rumors

So I walked to midfield at Foreman Field and looked around for this so-called rooftop view of the action from a supposed housetop on nearby Melrose Parkway.

   It doesn't exist.

But being a sometimes Cubs fan -- and an always Wrigley Field fan -- I hoped for a little rooftop love.

If there's any of that to be had, it's atop the Army ROTC building in the northeast corner of Foreman Field. The admissions building right behind it might offer a little love too.

But don't think the Melrose Parkway thing is happening. "Dadioh" who posted that he had some available rooftop spots is pulling your chain.

Rooftop Luv

If you've ever been to Chicago, you would recognize the fact that it's not always the game those eave hangers are there for. With the addition of our fourth floor deck, built in benches a big big screen TV and bar, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE THE ODU GAMES dude. It's the experience man. As well, you'll be within audible distance to hear the roar of the crowd, the blare of the band and the smell of the hot dogs. I'll also throw in free tailgating for the parking fee of $20. Limited capacity, so make your reservations now.
