ELIZABETH CITY
Police are asking for help in locating a Hertford man who was recently indicted on a murder charge.
Darryl Torrey Elliott, 31, was indicted Monday in Pasquotank County Superior Court, according to a news release from the Elizabeth City Police Department.
He is wanted in relation to the shooting death of Thurston Pittman, 26, who was found dead in the parking lot of the Brothers & Sisters Club, a private nightclub, on July 10, 2006, shortly after 2 a.m.
When police had arrived on the scene, there was a crowd of about 40 to 60 people at the scene, but no arrests were ever made.
The charge comes after a lengthy investigation with assistance from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the news release said.
Anyone with information about Elliott’s whereabouts is asked to call the Elizabeth City Police Department at (252) 335-4321 or the Crime Line at (252) 335-5555.
