A 19-year-old Franklin man was arrested early today after police said he fired several shots in the 200 block of Bracey St.

The incident happened just after midnight Friday, said police spokesman Lt. T.W. Whitt.

Numerous shots were fire, and one bullet struck a residence on Bracey Street, Witt said. Alexander Howard Olds, of the 300 block of Bruce St., Franklin, was arrested and charged with attempted malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied dwelling and several other crimes.

Whitt said a second suspect was a juvenile who was questioned and released. According to Whitt, Olds apparently had an argument earlier in the day Thursday with someone who lived at the Bracey Street address.

Olds is being held without bond at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
