Fred Thompson will appear with Attorney General Bob McDonnell later this evening before a fundraising event in Virginia Beach, the AP was reporting.
The event at The Westin Hotel is expected to raise funds for McDonnell’s 2009 gubernatorial campaign, the news agency reported. McDonnell is a likely candidate for the Republican nomination for governor.
Thompson, an actor and former senator, was running for the 2008 presidential nomination, but ended his campaign in January.
