A 42-year-old man whose car was hit while he was trying to make a left turn onto Muddy Creek Road last night has died, police said.
Eric Christian Amdal, of the 4700 block of Morris Neck Road, was trying to make the turn shortly after 10 p.m. from the southbound lane of Princess Anne Road, said Adam Bernstein, police spokesman.
As he tried to make the turn, the car behind him went into the northbound lane in an attempt to avoid hitting him in the rear, Bernstein said. Instead, it hit the driver’s side of Amdal's vehicle.
Amdal went into cardiac arrest and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:17 a.m., Bernstein said.
The car that hit Amdal's vehicle was driven by a 16-year-old girl, Bernstein said. Charges are pending.
