A BIT TEDIOUS

2

This is a rather slow film. At one point, I looked at my watch and was surprised to see that only 45 minutes had passed. It never grabbed us and demanded our total interest. The acting is rather pedestrian, each of the actors gives us a performance we've seen them give before. I get that Harry, played by Chris Cooper, is a bit of a buttoned-down introvert, but, please, give the guy a pulse. Pierce Brosnan once again plays the somewhat smarmy skirt chaser whose motivations are always suspect. Rachel McAdams was nice eye-candy, but any one of a number of young actresses could have done the part better. I thought Patricia Clarkson may have been the best in the film, but there really wasn't much competition.
