relevant?
He talks a lot about the Bible and right and wrong.

Why is Warren's religion relevant?
warrenb
Are you a Christian?
I think that
the best way to judge someone is to watch what they do. Obama chose to be a member of this church and chose to listen to the preaching therein and chose to associate himself with all of this. We can safely say that we can judge Obama by the company he kept for the last 20 years. If you belonged to the Westboro Baptist church for the last 20 years, could we not judge you by that? A little off topic, but a little advice for Obama if he chooses Hillary as his running mate: keep away from Fort Marcy Park!

"Instead of following the teachings of Jesus to serve the needy, Kuo found himself helping to manipulate religious faith for political gain. Public funds were used in battleground states, for Republican campaign events. The legislative process was used as a football, not to pass laws but to deepen purely symbolic fault lines. Grants were incestuously recycled to political cronies. Worst of all was the prevailing attitude in the White House & throughout Washington toward Christian leaders. Key Bush aides & Republican operatives spoke of them with contempt & treated them as useful idiots."
Yes - blame bush. Done for vote mobilization and cronies
"Under the auspices of its religion-based initiatives & other fed programs, the admin has funneled at least $157 million in grants to orgs run by political & ideological allies, according to fed grant documents & interviews. Many have been active Republicans & influential supporters of Bush's pres campaigns."

David Kuo, Special Assistant to GWB & Dep Director of the Office of Faith-Based Initiatives says some of the nation’s most prominent evangelical leaders were known in the office of Karl Rove as “the nuts.” They were dismissed behind their backs & described as ‘ridiculous,’ ‘out of control,’ and just plain ‘goofy,’” Kuo writes.
Blaming Bush for this too?
To blame George Bush for these supposed concerns about separation of church and state is rediculous. Who are folks going to blame for all their concerns in November when a new President is elected? Mary, you are confused if you think these "toxic ravings" are a separation of church and state issue. These religious figures are free to preach as they wish in the USA, thank God. We are free to listen and make informed judgements about what they say. We are also free to observe who has aligned themselves with these religious leaders, and free to make observations and conclusions about these associations. While I do not think that Barack Obama shares the wacky beliefs of Reverend Wright and Pastor Pfleger, it does give me great concern that he has chosen Wright as a spiritual advisor for the past 20 years and considers him almost as part of his family. Yes, I am making a judgement about this association, and I am free to, thank God.
Please
Warren, you think that the KKK is a great organization, that they stand up for White, Christian values. I think they are a stain on American history. You think Hitler was a man ahead of his time and very patriotic. I believe him and his followers to be among the worst monsters in history. We have a difference of opinion, I would say however that you would appear to be in the minority, at least Ihope so. And what difference does it make whether I was born when the last person was lynched by the KKK? As far as your silly bets, please. Your equating black on black crime to white on black crime is nonsense. Any sane person knows that murder for any reason is wrong, not matter what, you however try to minimize the crimes of the KKK and Hitler, by...praising their patriotisn....Again, you're kidding, right?
A Line From A Movie...
..just came to mind today as I read of financial markets in a downsize, people fighting over gas, food and land. The difference in religions and those that use said religions to inspire hatred of his fellow human being..The line is from the movie Terminator. A young John Connor is looking at the little kids brandishing toy guns, shooting themselves. He turns and looks at the robot played by Arnold Schwarzenegger- "We're not going to make it are we?"...to which the robot responds "It is in your nature to destroy yourselves"!
The man is just as dead
To Tim, it matters more why a man is killed than the fact that he he is killed, murdered. Why is killing a few men for their race more important than many men killing over pizza holdups, drugs, or gang wars? Is not the dead man just as dead?
In the first place, the KKK has not hung anyone in more than 50 years, meanwhile, blacks have killed other blacks at the rate of more than 10,000 annually in the last 50 years. To Tim, it seems more evil to kill a man for his race than his drug money.
In the last 50 years, blacks have brutalized and killed many whites because of the color of their skin. What is the difference between a white killing a black because of his race or a black killing a white because of his race? Would Tim give me $1 for every black killing a white if I give him $5 for every white killing a black in the last 50 years?
It may be that Tim was not born when the KKK killed their last black. All Tim knows of the matter is the propaganda he is fed and swallows whole.
Surely, you jest
Warren, please tell me that you are just kidding and trying to stir things up on this topic. Surely you cannot with a sraight face say things like "Is the KKK all that bad?", and "Hitler was a man before his time." I don't know how you can in one sentence say that the KKK didn't kill people because of their race or religion and then go on to say that they killed trying to preserve their White, Christian heritage in the next. Then you go on to say that more blacks kill blacks than the KKK killed blacks. How does that disprove that the KKK killed blacks because of their race, or have anything to do with what we were talking about? You have however cleared up for me the reason why you won't be voting for Obama. On a different note, you never did explain where you came up with that whimsical nickname for Obama, though I am starting to have my suspicions....
America is a practioner of euthanasia
Contractorva, “The most extreme measure, the Euthanasia Program, was in itself a rehearsal for Nazi Germany's broader genocidal policies."
You people are more naïve than I could have imagined.
Euthanasia is practiced all day every day in this country. We just call it something else: starvation and dehydration. In every hospital and nursing home in the country, there may be, at this moment, an elderly who is allowed to die of starvation and dehydration. All life preserving tubes are removed and the person is allowed to die over a period of 7-10. It is something we would not do to a horse else be accused of cruelty and consequently jailed. But we do it to our elderly.
Hitler was a man before his time. If we are to last much longer as a nation, we will see now aborted babies saved to grow for their body parts.
It is an insanity to kill our babies and replace them with diseased and illiterate third world immigrants.
Is the KKK all that bad?
Timd, "Is patriotic to you someone who hates and have killed other Americans because of those peoples' race and religion?"
First, other Americans were not killed because of their race. A very few were killed in the KKK eforts to protect, defend, and preserve the white Christian race and its culture. Strangely, the KKK is most hated by the very people it is dedicated to help. This is reminiscent of Christ whose death was called for by the very people He came to save.
A few people were killed by the KKK. I have a wager for any of you KKK haters. I will give you $5 for every black man killed by the KKK in the last hundred years if you will give me but $1 for every black man killed by another black man in the last 50 years. uess who will laughing all the way to the bank.
In one single year, it's possible that five times more blacks are killed by blacks than have been killed by the KKK in its history.
Put or shut up.
Re: Smear tactic, Nazis
Contractor, you are correct, Obama had no role in picking his name. Now please admit that the only reason people use his middle name in speaking of him is to tie him to an evil Muslim. Why does no one use the presumptive republican candidate's middle name when talking about him? It's a smear tactic.
As far as the Nazi comments, all readers on this topic, please note what was posted by warren "US, Nazi's, what's the difference?." If you truly believe that there is no difference in the Nazi's and America because of abortion, then I don't have any idea of how to respond, but I will end by stating that I refute the notion that the the leaders of a nation who supposedly love their country but bring about the destruction of that nation through their own murderous actions are not patriotic at all. They are dangerous fanatics.
Nazis...Germans ..killing their own
"The Nazi persecution of persons with disabilities in Germany was one component of radical public health policies aimed at excluding hereditarily "unfit" Germans from the national community. These strategies began with forced sterilization and escalated toward mass murder. The most extreme measure, the Euthanasia Program, was in itself a rehearsal for Nazi Germany's broader genocidal policies."
Also lets not forget Gypsies, Homosexuals, etc....many who were Germans..If I am not mistaken the entire SA was pretty much wiped out. The SA were all Germans.
America, Nazis, what's the difference?
Timd is asking,"Since you are holding up the KKK as a paragon of patriotism, how do you feel about the Nazis and their love of Germany?"
Lesse now. The Nazis are said to have killed 6 million Jews. America is said to have killed more than 40 million of its own babies since 1973.
In about 5 years, the Nazis killed about 6 million Jews. America kills its own babies at the same rate, about 6 million every five years.
The difference? The Nazis killed did not kill their own people. The Nazis were more patriotic than we are.
Hussein Smear Tactic
Barack Hussein Obama, Jr...Hussein is Obama's middle name..If it is a typical smear tactic...then his parents should be the one to bear the blame, & it would appear the father should get the Lion's Share of the credit.
Seperation of church and state
This woman, Mary Batten, stresses that we need to keep a clear separation of church and state. We have successfully done this. This can be verified by our high rates of divorce, abortion, rampant pornography, high levels of teen pregnancies, widespread sexually transmitted diseases, vulgarities in speech and music, nudity with its tattoos and piercing in all private areas of the body, and corruption at all levels of government. How much more separation of church and state could this woman want?
"Hussein Obanana"?
"Obanana"? Really? I mean, I get the "Hussein" part, typical smear tactic. But "Obanana"? Is that supposed to be funny? Far more troublesome however is your proud defense of the KKK in trying to make the case that Obama(note proper spelling), is a rascist who hates America. Of course he hates America, that's why he's running for President. He has an evil secret plan to destroy America once he takes office. Whatever his deficencies may be as a candidate for President, and there are quite a few, I do not believe he is a rascist or that he hates America. You, however make it clear where your sympathies lie when you proudly state that the KKK is very patriotic. Really? Is patriotic to you someone who hates and have killed other Americans because of those peoples' race and religion? Since you are holding up the KKK as a paragon of patriotism, how do you feel about the Nazis and their love of Germany?
Pew politics
Apparently, to this woman, Hussein Obanana can do no wrong and all his indiscretions can be excused. Obanana should not be judge guilty by association, she says. Then she makes a silly, totally invalid, comparison to Catholics with reference to child sexual abuse.
Suppose, in the likeness of Obanana, I attend KKK rallies for 20 years, make financial contributions to this group, and later run for president and deny approval of the rhetoric I heard all this time. How would same woman, Mary Batten, judge me and my association with the head clansman I claimed to be my mentor? Would she judge me guilty by association? (We often hear that we are judged by the company we keep).
In the first place, the KKK is very pro-American and patriotic. No hate-America speech.
Pew is Right!
I smell a Democrat...I don't know what Mary's thinking; but, I'm glad the media exposed Obama's character (unknown to virtually all voters) and lack of judgment prior to the November elections. Twenty years exposure is a long time (for a 47 year old man)... Had all this "news" been exposed back in January in lieu of after most of the primary state elections, Hillary would have already locked up the nomination and Obama would still be sitting in Trinity Church condoning America hate sermons. Anyone giving Obama a free pass and dissing this off as "politics" ought to take a long look in the mirror and reflect on their own character. Also, I wonder how many more skeletons are coming out of Obama's closet when the "gloves come off" before the elections.
