SUFFOLK
George L. Riddick III, a 25-year-old Suffolk man, was arraigned Friday in Circuit Court on first-degree murder and other charges.
Riddick pleaded not guilty and asked to be tried by a judge.
Riddick is accused in the shooting death of Vogentina Stephens, 19, at Riddick’s apartment on Grace Street in December 2006. He’s also charged with shooting Stephens’ uncle Eddie Walker Jr., 37.
He’s facing seven charges, including aggravated malicious wounding, discharging a firearm at an occupied building, and two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Riddick’s trial is scheduled for Sept. 17.
