A Suffolk homeowner got bad news last January when police called him to say his home in the Pughsville area had been broken into.

The news got worse when Daniel Paul Estellia learned he was under arrest for manufacturing marijuana.

Estellia, 24, pleaded guilty to the crime in Circuit Court on Thursday. He also forfeited his mobile home, along with the cash and electronics found there, as part of his sentencing.

Police found an elaborate marijuana-growing operation at the mobile home , according to prosecutor Scott Alleman. There was an air circulation and watering system, trash from potting soil bags and watering bottles. Marijuana plants were hung in the closets to dry.

The thieves who broke into the house while Estellia wasn’t there – a juvenile and an adult – took a Sony PlayStation and another computer game system. They were charged with burglary and grand larceny.

Estellia will remain out on bond until he’s sentenced on Sept. 24, Judge Rodham Delk said.
