PORTSMOUTH
A juvenile was indicted Thursday and will be tried as an adult on charges of murder and robbery in connection with the April 25 slaying of a 50-year-old pizza delivery man.
Antonio J. Smith, 17, of the 4400 block of Birch Road, also faces four firearms charges, according to grand jury documents released Friday.
Police arrested Smith and Jamal Minggia, 18, of the 900 block of Bold St., on May 1.
At the time of the shooting, Minggia was out on bond for an unrelated assault charge. Smith has prior convictions for statutory burglary, grand larceny and assault and battery, according to information that came out during his May 2 arraignment in Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.
Last week, during a preliminary hearing, a detective said Smith told authorities he took the pizza, but that it was Minggia's idea and he walked away thinking it was over when he heard shots.
According to a probable cause summary, Robert Kiesewetter was trying to deliver pizza to an address in the 5600 block of Craneybrook Lane that night, and a witness saw him next to his car, arguing with an individual.
As Kiesewetter drove away, that person was seen shooting at the car several times, according to the document.
Kiesewetter died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
Police searched the area and found Papa John's bags with pizzas for that address and the next stop, according to the document.
