Late-night drivers at the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel should be prepared to wait a little longer tonight.
Crews will conduct two hours of routine tests of the tide gates, scheduled to start at 11 p.m., according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Eastbound traffic will be stopped for 30 minutes on the Hampton side of the tunnel for testing from 11 p.m. to midnight, VDOT said. Westbound traffic will be stopped for 30 minutes at the Norfolk entrance for tests from midnight to 1 a.m. Monday.
Times may vary and weather issues could push the tests back to Monday night.
VDOT suggest the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel as an alternative route.
