Police have obtained warrants for two men in the shooting of a man early Sunday morning.
The two men are suspected of malicious wounding, use of a firearm and attempted robbery, said Chris Amos, police spokesman. Both are considered armed and dangerous.
The charges stem from a shooting about 3:45 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of E. Little Creek Road. Officers responded to a report of gunshots and arrived to find a man with several gunshot wounds. The man - whom police have yet to identify - was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with injuries that were considered life-threatening. He remained there Sunday night, Amos said.
Police identified the suspects as:
n Deonte L. "Tay" Mayfield, 19, of the 300 block of Fort Worth Ave. He is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and 140 pounds, with black hair worn in braids or twists and brown eyes.
n Donte "Tay" White, 21, of the 200 block of W. 29th St. He is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and 155 pounds, with short black hair worn in cornrows and brown eyes.
Both are known to frequent Ashlawn Drive and the "Texas streets" area of Norfolk.
