Two charged in Hampton convenience store robbery

HAMPTON

Police have charged two people and are still seeking a man in connection with a convenience store robbery Monday night.

The store, in the 100 block of W. Mercury Blvd., was robbed shortly after 11 p.m. Monday, according to police. Two armed men walked into the store and one took money from the register.

They fled the store afterward, police wrote in a news release.

Yesterday, police charged John Alfred Butler, 22, with robbery, breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony and two counts of using a gun during a felony, the release says. Butler lives in the 16000 block of Smithfield Heights in Smithfield.

Timara Patrice Bowden, 19, of the 100 block of Doolittle Road, was charged with one count of accessory after the fact to robbery, the release says.

Police are looking for Roderick Lamont Spratley, 22, and have warrants on file charging him with robbery and using a gun during a felony, the release says. Spratley’s last known address was in the 500 block of 17th St.
