NORFOLK
John R. Broderick, Old Dominion University's acting president during the search for a permanent top administrator, received a temporary $70,000 raise Monday, increasing his salary to $282,000 per year.
The Boards of Visitors made the raise retroactive to June 15, when Broderick assumed the duties of Roseann Runte, who left to take the same job at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. He will receive the extra pay until a new president is on board. The board also voted to review Broderick's original salary when he returns to his vice president job.
Board Rector Marc Jacobson also announced Monday that further interviews with candidates for president will be held over the next 15 days in closed meetings at undisclosed locations.
