Built around 1680, the Adam Thoughgood House is said to be one of the oldest brick homes in the country. The house was named for an indentured servant who made a fortune in tobacco farming and became a symbol for upward mobility in early American society. The home is part of Chrysler Museum's historic homes and provides tours of its historic herb and flower garden as well as special events during Christmas and Halloween.
