Admirals make it official, name Rumble head coach

The Norfolk Admirals introduced former assistant Darren Rumble as their new head coach at a news conference this afternoon.

Former NHL player Alan May will serve as Rumble’s assistant.

Rumble, a former NHL defenseman and a member of the Lightning’s 2004 Stanley Cup team, was Steve Stirling’s assistant during a 2007-08 season. The Admirals failed to make the playoffs last season for the first time in franchise history. On April 25, Stirling was re-assigned and the option on Rumble’s contract was not renewed.
