Bearing Drift blog editor cleared for GOP convention

NORFOLK

The editor of Bearing Drift, a popular conservative blog here, will be heading to the Republican National Convention in Minnesota.

Bearing Drift editor J.R. Hoeft, who lives in Chesapeake, applied for and received credentials to the convention, which is scheduled for Sept. 1- 4 in Minneapolis-St. Paul.

The blog, which can be found at bearingdrift.com, looks at national, state and local news and issues from a Hampton Roads perspective, Hoeft said. And that's how he intends to cover the convention.

"I'm going there to work," he said. "I'm going there to cover the story."
