Semi-daily Spears update: Britney and Kevin reach a custody settlement

Britney Spears and her ex Kevin Federline have reached a custody settlement in their epic, year-and-a-half court battle over their two sons. According to the agreement, reportedly signed by all parties, Federline retains sole custody of the couple's two sons, Preston, 2 1/2, and Jayden, 1 1/2. Spears – who's currently allowed two visits and one overnight per week – will keep her visitation rights. But the court still has to approve it, and both parties are due in court Friday.

 

Salma Hayek calls off engagement

Ay, caramba. Relations between Mexico and France apparently aren't as smooth as once thought. A rep for Salma Hayek and her French billionaire baby daddy, François-Henri Pinault, has confirmed that the couple of two years and parents of one have called off their engagement. Which means the actress is back on the market.

 

Emmy nominations show younger isn't always better

Teens and 20-somethings may be the target demographic for many TV shows, but when it comes to top actresses, over 40 is where it's at. Only one actress nominated for an Emmy on Thursday is in her 20s: 24-year-old "Ugly Betty" star America Ferrera, for lead actress in a comedy series. Almost all of this year's Emmy-nominated actresses are 40-plus, with many in their 50s and some in their 60s. Read on to find out who scored an Emmy nom.

 

British mothers banning Miley Cyrus toys

Angry parents at the Disney store in London told FoxNews columnist Neil Sean that while the kids still want to buy Miley Cyrus dolls and toys, the grown-ups are in fact banning them as “they feel she is now of an unsuitable nature for a 15-year-old megastar.“ British mothers are furious with the endless saucy snaps, like the purported one of her showering in a white T-shirt that reportedly was hacked from her cell phone.

 

Boy, 11, tracks speeders with toy radar gun

Landon Wilburn, 11, has a future as a cop — a traffic cop. The youngster, who used to shout at speeders to slow down as they drove through the Stone Lakes subdivision in Louisville, now has taken matters into his own hands. Dressed in a reflective vest, wearing a bicycle helmet and armed with an orange Hot Wheels brand radar gun, he points and records the actual speed of passing traffic.
