Cedar Grove is the oldest city-owned cemetery in Portsmouth and was established in 1832. The cemetery is noted for its funerary art and the civic, business, maritime, religious and military leaders who are buried there and is listed on the Virginia and national registers of historic sites.

Beautiful & historic

We drove over to Cedar Grove when we found out that my husband's great grandparents are buried there. It's a great old cemetery and it is kept up a little nicer than Oak Grove, which appears to be abandoned and is down right spooky.
