I saw that!!!

Ahno and Porque volunteer all over town, babysit grandkids, do projects, have far too much fun saying what they think.

Chihuahua Chat

1) Recently a utility repair man, the type in and out of multiple homes each day, told me that he sees lots of Chihuahuas in the course of his work. I asked how many and he replied, “Lots and lots and lots. Very many.” This surprised me until I remembered Meet Ups.

2) A kind reader once directed me to meetup.com. Through this site I learned that right around me live 39 Chihuahua owners who would appreciate it if someone organized a yipster meet and greet at a local park.

One such club near D.C. has hundreds of members. Each summer they put on a fun, all-day event that draws big crowds and many participants. My favorite wacky event is Chihuahua races. I watched a Chihuahua Race on You Tube and laughed up a lung. Here's another one from Seattle...Oh, Petco, please organize this in Hampton Roads.  T-Bone would win.

3) Yesterday I finally located the address of Wet Noses Boutique in Norfolk. It’s on 22nd Street behind Dollar Tree on 21st Street in one of those new Palace Shoppes. Popping in yesterday, I found a gizmo much-appreciated at the dog park. It’s like a skinny plastic arm with a gripper on one end that will hold a tennis ball. Nifty thing to get loft and spin on a ball for your dog to chase

Today I’ll take Porque Choppe back to Wet Noses. They stock some of the most adorable and well-made Chihuahua harness-dresses I’ve ever seen. This item is a sturdy whole body restraint with a leash ring attached, but it’s also a super-cute item of apparel.

I wasn’t sure about sizes so the clerk suggested that I bring my dog for a try on…like in a ladies‘ clothes shop. YAY! I love this idea. Also I love the thought that little Porque Choppe will have a soft and comfy harness that looks like a prom dress. And maybe she’ll also have one that looks like a biker babe outfit. And then, too, I noticed…
