A man who was found shot with his wife in his home on Friday has improved, and is now in serious condition at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. But his wife remains in critical condition, according to hospital spokesman Dale Gauding.
The victims, a husband and wife Jacob and Kendra Johnson, were inside their home on Spring Breeze Court in The Lakes section of the city before 9 a.m. Friday, said Jimmy Barnes, a police spokesman.
The woman had not been to work in a couple of days, Barnes said. The couple hadn' t been heard from when the woman's brother stopped by the house to check on them, Barnes said.
The brother, who was not identified, could hear the couple's two children inside, Barnes said. The brother got inside the home and found the couple.
The children, ages 2 and 4, were fine, Barnes said.
It's not clear when the couple was shot, Barnes said.
The Lakes section is located off Holland Road.
