June-August: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; March, October 8am-8pm; April, May, September 8 am-8pm. Office hours: 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. June - August. 

Free entrance admission.

Visitor center, pathways, wheelchair accessible dune overlook; some park programs are available in sign language for the hearing impaired. Two motorized dune vehicles available to take visitors to the top of the dune.

Visitor center; drink machines near restrooms.

Catch air on the home of the largest sand dune, reaching 140 feet high, on the East Coast and the birthplace of the Wrights' first flight. The consistent breeze (10 to 15 mph) and gentle slope of Jockey's Ridge provides an ideal landscape for all airborne activities. Or enjoy the view of the kite-flying and hang gliding communities of Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills. The 414-acre state park is a narrow stretch of land embedded in the Roanoke Sound and Atlantic ocean.
