The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office on Monday charged a man with arson in connection with a fire at the home of the owner of Pierce’s Pitt Bar-B-Que near Williamsburg.

York-Poquoson deputies and York County firefighters were called at 3:44 a.m. Sunday to the popular restaurant, at 447 E. Rochambeau Drive, off Interstate 64 in York County.

The house on the property was engulfed in flames, and the front door to the restaurant was smashed, a statement from the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said.
