This beach on Norfolk's Chesapeake Bay is a popular spot for folks who'd rather spend more time at the beach than driving to it. With commercial piers, bait shops and tackle rentals, it makes an ideal fishing spot as well. Enjoy mild waves of the Chesapeake Bay.

I live in fl., however, lived near ocean view when I was a little girl. such a thrill to go to OV. I was so excited to ck OV out online. Many wonderful memories & friends made in there. I envy those who live there. gwen pedersen lightsey

From 1986 to 96I lived in West Ocean View while working at Naval Aviation Depot on the base. When it closed in 1996, I moved to the Seattle area. The rents in O. V. were so affordable and laundromats plentiful. My hangout was McDonalds in West O.V. Now its Starbucks.

I live about 100 yards away from the ocean view beach park, right in between the park and the public beach. In the past years that I've lived here, the area has improved immensly. There are both fast food restaurants, a grocery store, and nice mexican, chinese and italian restaurants in walking distance of the beach. Anyone who is looking for a relaxing, non touristic day on the beach can find their groove in Ocean View!

I have lived a huge amout of my life in Ocean View/Willoughby Spit area. I always loved the fact that a blue collar worker could live on, or near the Chesapeake Bay. Love the way its cleaned up. Just hope it doesn't lose its beachy old charm. This is one of best kept secrets on the east coast. Miss the Ocean View/Willoughby Spit area a lot. Anyone looking for a quiet beach would be happy with Norfolk's North Coast!

I have lived near the OV beach most of my life, and it has been a part of the family all our lives, with the beach, and the OV activities which goes on in the summer, and now with the new fishing pier, as long as we keep it up and clean, more people will come, and with the nice motels being right on the water, what a nice place to have a vacation, have many firends who would rather OV than VB

i lived in oceanviev for most of my adult life .the best part of the area, is the beach. i went as a child and i took my daughter, when she was born. that was the highlight of our life, to go down to the ocean. now i live in san antonio,tx. and i do miss the ocean .i'll visit very soon,

we go to va beach at least 2 times a year and we love it. there is always something to do and the place is beautiful.

I think its one of the best places to go if you're looking for a nice beach and entertainment. There's always some kind of music,bands,acts, and other entertainment going on at the ocean view park. I for one perform there every summer with my big swing band along with other bands every week end saturdays and sundays. People picnic in the park with their children or under the gazebo,buy their food across the st. in the shopping center go back across the street and have a nice relaxing time . there is also security forces there plus THE BEACH with no large crowds . I like it

This is a very nice beach spend time at if you have kids or don't want to be in the crowds that Va Beach attract . The waves are very mild, that water is warm and the sunshine is great !!
