HERTFORD, N.C.
Police are investigating the shooting death of a 21-year-old man early Sunday morning.
At about 3:40 a.m. Jamar Fletcher, of Hertford, was standing on King Street, near Stokes Drive, when he was shot by someone in a passing car, said Hertford Town Manager John Christensen.
Fletcher died en route to the hospital, Christensen said.
The shooting is believed to be the result of an earlier argument, and police are searching for specific people believed involved. Christensen said police were not ready to release any information about potential suspects.
