Hope to see you again!

I was crushed when I read about the church fire that destroyed Skipjack Nautical Wares & Marine Gallery. Skipjack was such an asset to downtown Portsmouth and to Hampton Roads. You would have to drive a thousand miles in either direction along the east coast to find a comparable nautical store. We certainly hope that the owners of Skipjack will find a way to reopen. Hampton Roads (and especially Portsmouth) should do whatever they can to get this business back! We miss you!

Talk about a overpriced arena- well this it. We make it a point to see Old Towne on a regular basis- usually we don't browse antique environments but we were waiting for our favorite brewpub to open so we took a chance- the place is way overpriced- and the owner seemed like he didn't want me in the store- like I was going to break his precious cargo- Fine- it's really nothing to get excited about-also think they have gone overboard on window display- My wife and I came to this conclusion- it's a mix between Clark Griswold and Fred G. Sanford- Avoid

When I first came into this store, I had originally planned to just do a little bit of browsing. But after seeing all the wonderful things they had, I ended up buying an amazing antique brass lantern that now sits in my living room, plus a wonderful painting by a local Portsmouth artist that is now hanging over my once bare fireplace (which I have gotten a number of ooh's and awe's from friends!). I have gone back a number of times now, everytime finding it impossible to leave empty handed! Two thumbs way up!
