SUFFOLK
A 13-year-old boy was arrested on ten charges in connection with a robbery in Suffolk Thursday night in which one man was shot and another hit on the head, Suffolk police said.
The robbery happened about 11 p.m. at a house on John Street.
A man was sitting outside when three robbers came up to him and demanded money. The robbers hit and kicked the man. Another man inside the house came out to help him, and the second man was hit on the head, a statement from the city said. When the first man crawled inside, a robber chased him and shot him in the arm.
A police dog led officers to a nearby house, where they arrested the 13-year-old. He was charged with robbery, burglary, malicious wounding, aggravated malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied dwelling, conspiracy to commit a felony and four counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
The man who was shot was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment, the police report said. The man who was hit on the head was treated at the scene for a laceration.
The 13-year-old was being held at Tidewater Detention Home in Chesapeake.
Police were looking for the other two robbers.
