A 17-year-old Virginia Beach man was airlifted to a local hospital today with serious but non-life threatening injuries after a single-vehicle crash, police spokesman Wayne Gilbert said.
Late this morning, police, fire and emergency medical services found the driver in the car in the 4200 block of Blackwater Road, Gilbert said.
The driver, who will not be identified because of his age, lost control of the car according to a preliminary investigation, Gilbert said.
“Driver distraction appears to be the primary cause of this accident, and charges are possible depending upon the outcome of the investigation,” Gilbert said.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt, Gilbert said.
