NORFOLK
The Democratic Party of Virginia’s Coordinated Campaign is scheduled to officially open a new office here Saturday.
It will be used to coordinate local grassroots efforts on behalf of Sen. Barack Obama, Mark Warner and Glenn Nye, who is challenging Thelma Drake in the 2nd Congressional District, organizers said.
Nye is scheduled to be at the 10 a.m. opening, which is at 9647 1st View St. in Ocean View.
Virginia Democrats have 14 offices statewide, including one in Virginia Beach and Newport News, organizers said.

CHICAGO - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama raised more than $51 million in July, his campaign said Saturday, nearly double that of his Republican rival, John McCain.
The Obama campaign received contributions from 65,000 new donors, it said, and a total of more than two million people have contributed.
Blame, the evil, liberal media; blame all the people who just aren't as smart as you; throw in a conspiracy or two and it won't change anything. The people started speaking very clearly in the November 06 elections and it's going to get louder this November.
Start practicing the words "President Obama" because people like you clearly have a lot of catching up to do.

Mark, I don't mind saying "President Obama" at all. That is not the point. The point is that our local newspaper continues to fail to bring our region objective reporting. The pilot fails to actually question the record and background of all candidates running for President. How much have you read about Bob Barr? Who? I rest my case. The way I see it, if Obama or McCain wins the white house, our nation is in trouble. I don't believe either one of those choices are good for America. The sad truth is the local and national media have really gone beyond the pale in their obvious bias in favor of the young inexperienced Senator from some northern state; a young man that offers our nation a taste of Chicago politics with a pro-black racial twist. Now there is change you can believe in.

to pick up my yard signs and bumber stickers for Warner and Nye.....not so much for Obama.

Why would the Left-leaning utopian society Pilot staff mention mean old John what's-his-name? Lord Obama is our new Messiah. He is the one he has been waiting for. Commander in chief? Fogitaboutit! He is the “Hope” to change the world – as we all join hands as citizens of the world, united by one global omnipotent world government. Please join with us, and the enlightened class, hold hands and sing John Lennon’s immortal anthem – “Imagine”; come on, I “hope” some day you will join us – and the world will sing as “one”.

This is the second story in as many days the Pilot has posted about a Democratic office opening up in the area. Yesterday, the story was about an office for Obama opening up in Suffolk, and gave the address.
