Gov. Timothy M. Kaine will be on the Peninsula today for the Ninth Cabinet Community Day.

Kaine and his senior staff will visit several Peninsula areas, including Fort Monroe, a news release from his office says.

The Army base is the first stop of the day with Kaine scheduled to ceremonially sign the reuse program for the base, according to his office. Yesterday, Kaine announced his approval of the plan.

Kaine also will visit the New Horizons Regional Education Center in Hampton, Great Oak Community for the Elderly in Newport News and the Integrated Science Center at the College of William and Mary, the release says.

The day will end with a reception at the Berkeley Plantation in Charles City.
