Named after the ’70s tennis star, the Stan Smith Adidas has the rare ability in a sports shoe to look both hip and sophisticated. Of course, in the past 10 to 15 years sneakers have become terrifyingly complicated and expensive, and admirers of these kinds of kicks have spawned a culture that sometimes takes itself too seriously.
