Posted to: Hampton Military News

LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE

The 1st Fighter Wing will conduct night flying exercises Tuesday through Thursday.

Night flights will remain within the standard flight patterns for the wing, with all in-flight training occurring at a safe distance off shore, according to a news release from its public affairs office. The training will take place all day and finish at about 9 p.m. each day.

The night missions are necessary for all of its pilots to complete required training and maintain proficiency levels with certain tasks.

WOW!! You guys actually get

WOW!! You guys actually get warnings??? For those of us in Oceana's flight path, we usually have flight ops EVERY Tuesday and Thursday - many not starting until 10:00 pm.. With school beginning to start and the cost of fuel as it is, it would be nice to have those night flight ops cut back some. DON'T GET ME WRONG - I'M MORE THAN HAPPY TO HAVE OUR PILOTS HERE - I WOULD JUST PREFER NIGHT OPS END EARLY IN THE NIGHT.
