The motorcyclist who died in an wreck on an Interstate 664 off-ramp Saturday morning was a sailor stationed on the aircraft carrier George H.W. Bush, police said.
Richard Harper, 23, of Georgia, was traveling south on I-664 when he lost control of his bike and crashed into a jersey wall on the 35th Street ramp in Newport News, said state police Sgt. Michelle Cotten.
He suffered severe head and chest injuries, and was pronounced dead at Riverside Regional Medical Center, Cotten said.
