A random attack while vicious and disgusting does not equate w/ actually inventing a continued system of abuse.

I agree with what you said, and for people such as richardl94534 and j2d4, they show their true character. I certainly would hope to walk up on people purposely destroying a nest -- and trust me, they would not be happy. You can tell quite a bit about someone's character by the way they treat waiters, the elderly and animals.

Not if it is ordered concurrent instead of consecutive. So it would actually be 1 month in jail. In VA jails good behaivor will cut that in half to about 15 days. Sometimes less. The time is so minor you could apply for weekends and possible reduce it further.

Correct me if I read that wrong but doesn't "12 months in jail with 11 suspended for each count" equal six months in jail because six animals died and there were six counts of animal cruelty??? Cheers, MGM

First of all, let me say...We live on a lake with geese. No, I don't like them because of the mess they make. They are loud and they make big deposits that we must clean up. So we certainly don't feed them to encourage them. But never, ever would we EVER consider harming one. We chose to live here and this is their habitat as well as ours.

He killed innocent animals. Where is PETA??? Why haven't they protested? Why was he sentenced to 12 months and 11 of those months were suspended resulting to him only having to serve 1 month, a fine and no mention of parole? Send him to jail with Michael Vick or free Michael Vick. Michael Vick has done more than 1 month in FEDERAL PRISON. What is the difference in the 2 crimes? What's the difference between black and white?

First off, these two dirtballs should be locked up. This type of sadistic behavior should be punchished with jail time! Second, I find the "funny" remarks by others to be offensive and juvenile. Cruelty to animals says a lot about a person's (lack of) character.

There are two common types of these geese locally. Those who visit and those who stay. One is migratory and flies. Our local ones rarely fly and would be a more likley candidate for getting caught.

Both taste bad. You have to feed them your self for weeks to soften up the meat. They can be really tough to eat.

The intent of the killing is important. Was the Goose for diner? And as far as the gooslings - how big is a cornish hen?

Did any of the reporters think to ask why they did it? I am curious. Not that it can be justified but it is an important element when reporting a story or prosecuting a crime.

They are pests more than anything. but dont kill em. call the gov't to kill em.

Way to harsh a penalty for the removal of a couple of pests. I would like to know why these disgusting birds are protected anyway. There are soooo many and thay cant be endangered. Have you seen what a mess they leave everywhere they "go". I would have done the same thing but not with a club.

I think that if a person can attack innocent animals like that they can also hurt human beings as well. They are criminals and should not be out on the street.

I lived in an area of Va Bch that was over-run by Muscovy Ducks (one's w/ red on bill). These birds can create quite a mess defecating EVERYWHERE !!!

They are a protected species and this is disgusting behavior that required judicial action. To beat to death those helpless little goslings is unconscionable. Talk about being without a soul.

Why in the world would two grown men club a mother goose and her five goslings to death? And why such a light sentence of only two months in jail and a small fine? Hampton Roads residents nearly went ballistic over the senseless tossing of a kitten out of a car window...rightfully so. But, why aren't all animals equally respected?

What was the intentions of the acts performed by these men? This had to have been a question that was asked...but obviously not disclosed. Again another half reported story by the pilot. Oops...better not say anything they don't like or else my post will be deleted.
